WHAT I’VE BEEN DOING

Its been a few days since I have posted.  I’ve been busy entertaining kids.  Our summer schedule and summer to do list is working well.  So far we have gone to the park, gone to the rec center pool, and given haircuts.  I gave FIVE haircuts in an hour yesterday and two of them were done completely with scissors.  I have no training in hair cutting, but with 5 sons I had to learn because I can’t stomach paying for that many haircuts every month or so.  I have taken my boys to hair dressers a few times, but was always unhappy with the results and wished I had saved the money and did it myself.  I am NOT a fan of cutting hair!  But I think I have gotten pretty good at cutting my boys’ and husband’s hair.   I cut it on the carpet in front of the TV in my bedroom.  That way it is easy to vacuum up the hair!

I wanted to tell you my mailboxes still haven’t come but the chore system is working really, really well.  My house is super tidy and I am loving it!  The boys are working hard every morning before we play, and then at night before bed we all “sparkle the house” together, which means we whip through and put everything away.  Takes us about 10 minutes.

Anyway, tomorrow is my 10 year wedding anniversary.  My husband is taking me on a date tonight and my mom is keeping the kids overnight.  I am excited for a night away and some time to spend with my sweetheart.  I feel like I should be getting him a gift, but I have no idea what to get him.  I don’t want it to be just any old thing….I want it to be something meaningful or at least something he would want to keep for a long time.  I would REALLY appreciate any and all ideas you have.  Mark, don’t read the comments!!

Hopefully I will be back with some more projects soon.  I do have a couple in the worksSmile

  1. I'm sure your time together (and maybe dinner at an amazing restaurant) will be gift enough! Happy anniversary!!!!

  2. Learn to play racquetball with him and make it a weekly/bi-monthly date.

  3. I love the "sparkle the house"! Awesome! I don't blame you for being the in house barber! My husband always wants me to shave his neck and get around his ears and I don't like doing it because I'm afraid I'll majorly mess up!
Congrats on 10 years!! How about a couples massage? :)

  4. No ideas for a quick & meaningful gift. A photo book of pictures of the 2 of you would be nice. What's the theme for 10 years? You could do something along those lines. Sometimes for anniversaries we go in together and get a joint gift for each other that is something we have been wanting (furniture, art, appliance, tool). Have fun today!
