Graduation is coming up! STAR WARS Graduation Party

My oldest son graduated from High School last year.  He is a die-hard Star Wars fan.  His room is packed with Star Wars memorabilia.  He has loved the movies since he was a little boy.  One day I was surfing the web when I came across THESE Star Wars Cupcake Topper Printables from Living Locurto.  I knew I HAD to do a Star Wars graduation party for my son.  It was the perfect theme!

I created this invitation and sent it to all our friends.

I had a great time creating this party.  It was a TON of work….themed food always is!  I was also planning my sister's big Little Princess Baby Shower as well as our Relief Society Birthday Party at the same time.  That was definitely party planning overload!  Word to the wise: Stick to one party at a time! 

I found THESE printable labels for some of the food at Sandy Toes and Popsicles.   The others I created myself. 

Ok, there are a million pictures from this party.  Here is the overall food table.  I created this banner using all my son’s school pictures and a few professional photos from before he started school.  I loved the way it turned out and it was SO fun to see his transformation over the years.  The guests really enjoyed looking at it, too!

I love these plastic baskets and bins from the dollar store for parties!  I opted for individual bags of chips rather than a bowl of chips.

Gummy bears, snickerdoodles (my son’s favorite), and Rolo pretzel bites.

Cheese balls! A favorite party food of small children!

Pretzel rods dipped in white chocolate and sugar sprinkles make great light sabers!

Note to self: Never trust a 2 year old around sugar!

My cute husband found these styrofoam coolers at the Dollar Store and thought they looked like At-At feet, which they totally do! They were the perfect way to display the cupcakes and add some height to the food table! Thanks, Honey!

Super cute cupcake toppers from Living Locurto.  She has updated them for this year!  I opted to put them on gear shaped backgrounds that I cut with my Silhouette Craft Cutter.

Yoda Soda.  I think I just made up some punch with Ginger ale and lime sherbet or something.  I can’t even remember now.  Just make any green punch!

I loved that I came up with this idea to make a Sarlacc out of my Cheese Ball!  I spread the cheese in the dish and then covered with very finely chopped nuts. 

Slivered almonds made the teeth and Chinese noodles for the tentacles coming up from the center.  Everyone thought this was very fun!

I picked up some little cinnamon rolls at Sam’s Club to use for this rather than making my own cinnamon rolls for 50 people!

These are Oreo Truffles.  I made a little dip in each one before coating them in chocolate.  My son liked these a lot.  They are one of his favorite treats!

Jedi Starfighter Buffalo Chicken Wontons.  These were fun.  Wonton wrappers stuffed with buffalo chicken and folded to resemble a Jedi Starfighter.

We fried them up after people had arrived so I didn’t get a chance to photograph them in the bowl with their label but you can kinda see it below.  We had blue cheese dressing to dip them in.  They were a big hit!  I sort of went off THIS recipe, though I am sure I used real butter and I don’t remember using cheddar cheese.  I think I just made shredded chicken, mixed with Frank’s sauce, butter and cream cheese.  I don’t know why I don’t write these things down when I am doing them!!

I also created these two prints for the table.  I gave them to my son in these frames and they are now hanging on his bedroom wall:
